Quantity Breaks
Introduction
Quantity Breaks allow you to set up different pricing levels for products based on the quantity ordered. This feature is useful for offering discounts or special rates to customers who purchase in bulk.
How Quantity Breaks Work
When entering sales or purchase orders in Excelerator, the system can automatically apply the correct price based on the quantity specified for each product. The price is determined by the quantity break rules set up in Sage 200.
For example:
Quantity Ordered | Unit Price |
---|---|
1–9 | £10.00 |
10–49 | £9.50 |
50+ | £9.00 |
If a customer orders 12 units, the unit price will be £9.50.
Using Quantity Breaks in Excelerator
- Ensure Quantity Breaks are set up in Sage 200 for the relevant products.
- Download product data into your Excelerator worksheet.
- Enter the required quantities for each product line.
- When you validate or save the data, Excelerator will automatically apply the correct price based on the quantity entered.
Saving Data with Quantity Breaks
After entering your product quantities and confirming that the correct prices are applied, you can save your data to Sage 200 using Excelerator:
- Click the Save button in Excelerator.
- Excelerator will validate your entries, ensuring that the correct quantity break pricing is used for each product line.
- If any errors are found (such as missing information or invalid quantities), you will be prompted to correct them before saving.
- Once validation is successful, your data will be saved to Sage 200, and the applied prices will be reflected in the system.
Note:
If the quantity entered does not match any of the defined quantity breaks in Sage 200, the standard product price will be used.
If a quantity break already exists for a product and you enter a new value for that break, the existing break will be overwritten with the new value when you save.
Tip:
You can review the saved data in Sage 200 to confirm that the correct quantity break pricing has been applied to your orders or invoices.
Tips
- If you update quantity breaks in Sage 200, re-download the product data to ensure your worksheet uses the latest pricing.
- You can review applied prices in the worksheet before saving to Sage.
